I'm running Windows XP Pro and I have Comcast Cable. My Internet
connection has been dropping almost every day and I have to go into Control
Panel > Network Connections > Local Area Connection then right click and
run a repair to restore it. Also, there are two that look peculiar--
'Local Area Connection' and Local Area Connection 2'? Does anyone have any
insight on this?

Do you have 2 Network Cards. If so , windows is 'seeingg
the card / connection for the second connection/pc as well.
you'll need to declare a default connection for use with the
internet connection/modem. If that doesn't work change by
removing the entry under device manager path:

control panel/performance &
maintenance/system/hardware[tab]/device manager/network cards.

I think you're on it. I managed to delete the second connection item that
had something to do with Microsoft TV? I'll know more later if the
behavior stops happening. Thanks.
