When I capture a 1hour movie from my sony trv22 frames
are dropped, I could not perfect the capture. I'm using
toshiba satellite notebook pentium 4, 2.66 gz, 512mb ram,
40 gb,my capture card is a Belkin firewire card. Is
there a solution? Also, I could not use the pass through
feature of my handycam to capture from analogue players?
Please help. thank you.

Your hard drive would have to have lots of free space and be pretty well
tuned up, and other software not running. And, even then - with the lower
speed hard drives of laptops - some people have gone to using a faster
external firewire hard drive for capturing and exporting.

The pass through feature does not work in Movie Maker 2.0.
When you use your laptop to record, make sure to:
1- Plug your laptop on a power outlet to avoid running on batteries. 90%
of the laptops will automatically decrease their performance when running on
battery.
2- Don't run any other application like Internet Explorer or Media
Player
3- Try to have several Gb of disk free
4- If you have less than 10Gb free, defragment your hard drive
