Drop Down Windows

I have Windows 2000 on my small business office work
station. There are several other work stations networked
to the server. On this one particular work station, when
I first click on a drop-down window, it may take up to 25
to 30 seconds for the window to drop down.

Any ideas to make the window to drop down as it should?

I'm not sure I know what a "drop down window" is, but do you by chance mean
the drop-down menu that forms part of the standard file open dialogue boxes?

If so, check that you don't have any drive mappings to servers that no
longer exist.
