Drop down menus not working on IE

When I click on some of my icons such as my email in the top bar of my IE
browser, the drop down box doesn't come up. If I take the mouse pointer and
move down, the options in the drop down menus will appear one by one. This
is the first I've ever seen of this. Any suggestions.
