Drop down menu for internet explorer

On internet explorer the drop down menu for web sites visited (history) is
not saving like it used to. I know how to clear the history but for some
reason it not storing what is typed in any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

Start, Control Panel, Internet Options, History. How many days history
has it been set to retain?

it states 25 days to keep the pages in the history any other suggestions?
