DRM Problem

D

Dave Lamar

I have an issue regarding the Windows media licenses. I've been trying to
follow Article 810422 but several of the folders/files that it instructs you
to access are not present on my computer.

1) The DRM folder does not appear where the registry indicates it is
located. (Instruction #3). The only DRM folder I have seems to be in the
"RealPlayer" folder
2) Windows Media Player will not allow me to backup or restore anything
(Instruction #4)
3) I can not find the "Drmv2.sst" file...even after searching the hard drive
(Instruction #5)

What can I do to restore the functionality of the Licensing?

Thank you.

try asking over in this group:

microsoft.public.multimedia.windows.mediaplayer

Are you running WMP 9 or 10? The newest rhapsody needs wmp 10 I think, it
has a new drm scheme.

check zach's faq:

http://www.nwlink.com/~zachd/pss/pss.html

ask Zach a direct question in the above group, he hovers there.

Most problems of this sort can be corrected by reinstalling WMP using the
"network installer" (ie, the fullup stand-alone installer program, about
12 MB. avail here:
