Drivers

Recently my DVD-writer (gsa-4081b) has been acting up, and the only way to
get it to work on a reboot is to uninstall then reinstall the drive.
Eventually it stopped reading DVD-R, and was only able to read cd's. After
this it stopped reading cd/dvds altogether. I thought it was a problem with
the drive, but then windows doesnt has errors for any cd-rom/dvd-rom device I
install on the computer. I know this because in device manager it says that
all cd/dvd-rom drives on my computer are missing the driver files. The
drivers would have been from the initial install of windows/windows xp
drivers that automatically configure themselves when the drive was installed.
I didn't recieve any drivers from Lg, when I purchased the drive, and I didnt
have any problems before. The exact error code is Code, 39, missing device
drivers. I looked, and i saw that if i ran scanned my files using the sfc
tool, it might fix the problem. So i ran it and it found problems, it then
asked me to insert the Windows XP cd. This would have solved the problem, but
windows doesnt recognize any inserted cds, as it smissing the drivers for the
cd/dvd drives. I've tried different cd drives, and also windows cant find the
drivers for virtual drives either, all of which before it found properly. The
only thing I can see is that my drivers got corrupted, and I can't reinstall
them as I can't read the XP cd. I've tried to rollback the driers, but its
missing the proper ones/theyre corrupted, so is there any way i can roll them
back/fix by not using the cd? Thanks
