I cannot locate or use either my dvd or cdrw drives on my computer. How can I restore these drives if the drivers are on cd?

Not really sure what you are having a problem with, Optical drives are universally plug and play, what OS are you running, did you check device manager? Did you check my computer to see if anything showed up?

Using XP and the 2 drives in device manager has a ! surrrounded by yellow. Nothing shows up on my computer for either drive. They do light when booting, so there is power to them. I'm getting an error 39 on missing or corrupt drives in device manager properties.

Take a look at Kelly's http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm
Select C and scroll to Cd/Dvd
missing from MyComputer/Explorer.
