does the newer series of drivers cause issues with some of the older
games,eg. Medal Of Honor? My game consistently locks up and EA and ATI seem
to be somewhat useless..just wondered if anyone else has this issue.
Msi K8N Neo2, San Diego 3700, Corsair TwinX PC3200-1024 C2PT, ATI X800XL
running Omega 2612.(.was running ATI's latest..but was worse), Audigy 2ZS .
Everything is stock settings as that is the first place I tried when it
happened. Fresh install XP Pro SP2 on 2nd drive with latest drivers produced
same result. The other drive has nothing on it but Xp,Drivers, NAV and the
game. It will run 3D Mark 03 looped no issues.

get the patches for the game ? try different settings in the game ?
if it can run the benchmark then your system is fine

Ive seen a few reports of MOH not working with new drivers. Good news is -
with Quake engine based games you can put a older OpenGL.dll in the games
folder and it'll use that. I'd suggest a driver in 3.7 - 4.3 area.

I ended up having to run my copy in "Windows 98 / Windows Me"
Compatibility Mode. Just make a "shortcut" or modify the properties
of the one the game installed.

The best drivers for MOH are the 4.4 from ati anything after that MOH
wont run right. You think they could work on that seeing how a lot of
people have been having this problem for a long time now :(

I ran MOH fine on the 5.06s. Problems started after that version. 5.12 and
5.13 work fine with MOH for me. (also Breakthrough)

I'm going back through the entire MOH series right now on my 9800
Pro. Seems fine using Catalyst 5.11. No patches. I'm getting a little
bit suspicious regards this name game and price war that ATI is
presently having with nVidia. I read that the X800XL and the 6800XT
were reduced function cards to get the prices down. That 6800XT
only costs $129 at Newegg, and it won't run Far Cry above Medium
video settings.

right now...I can't hardly run anything in regards to a game..I have tried
several series of drivers and now I am starting to get VPU errors...I think
I'll just return the bloody thing. Have formatted and reinstalled XP 3x to
try and get this to work...they don't even auto-install now...have to tell
it what I want.

XP x3 ? You taking about SP-3 ? Did You Install SP-3 ? That might be your
problem if you did. It's still In beta "BigTime"
That's why there is no auto install for it yet.

Then I would say it's not the OS. Try another video card. Did it work
before ?

"dino"; did you try running it in the Win98 compatability mode?

after installing the latest omega drivers...i have one day(so to speak) of
crash free gaming..the temps on the GPU seem to be to high and yes am
running the game in 98/ME compatibilty mode. It is just frustrating to have
spent the dollars..and yet can not run at what it should be...I never had
this kind of grief with my 9600XT.

what is strange...is after playing for a bit...the screen will darken...as
if I am going through a VPU recover..I go in to the game properties..set the
resolution right and am fine. So is this just a total driver issue..or a
card issue?
I build systems..but mine is the only one I have ever seen doing this..but I
do not build systems like this 1 for Joe blow..is a lil too much for them.

I had to setup the ATI Tray Tools, that came with the Omega
driver package, to have the fan come up sooner than the defaults
do. The fans weren't coming on strong enough to keep it in a
decent temperature.
