On Vista, am getting a BSOD with the subject error and subject file. Weird,
as I think the problem was linked originally to the Windows DVD Maker and the
Indeo codec. In the course of trying to solve the codec issue, I installed
some DVD creating software, and the BSOD ensued. Have deinstalled said
software and installed the K-Lite Codec pack with the Tweak tool and used it,
but the BSOD continues. Wife is getting really pissed.

Use System Restore to restore the system to before you installed the
offending software. This will change some registry entries but will not
affect any of you or your wife's files done since then. If the machine is
presently unstable then you can boot with the Vista dvd and use System
Restore there (a new feature of Vista's recovery tools).
