Driver Updates Unavailable on Windows Update

How can I force Windows Update to scan my computer for
existing drivers and then list available updates to
them? Currently Driver Updates is grayed out after Scan
for updates is run. Please let me know. Thanks in
advance.

Hi,

If it's grayed out, then that simply means there are no driver updates for
your system. You can also click personlize and ensure that you have not
disable scanning for driver updates.

Frankly though, I would not rely on that anyhow. The drivers usually offered
at WindowsUpdate are basic or stripped-down versions of the full driver sets
offered by the hardware manufacturer (though not always, the recent Nvidia
offering was written by Nvida and shared to Microsoft for the update site).
I would suggest two things: 1) Do not update a driver unless you are having
a problem with the current one, newer does not always mean better, and 2)
get your driver updates directly from the hardware manufacturer to ensure
you get the full compliment of tools.

I have the same problem

It used to Scan for Drivers automatically until
yesterday - when I went for the five Oct Critical Updates
the Driver Section is greyed-out - the Windows Updates
and the Criticals are ok - they are blue and have a
number by them but the Drivers one is just grey -
previously there were always two Drivers for me

No - there is definitely something wrong because there
has always been two Drivers there - the category is not
even available in Personalize - I don't want the Drivers
anyway - I just want them to be there as before! - the
other Categories display a '0' when there is none

Other people are mentioning this 'bug' also
