driver unloaded without cancelling pending operations

When I try to change printer port settings in device
manager, I get a blue screen with this message "driver
unloaded without cancelling pending operations" and it
says that parport.sys is at fault. Anybody know how to
correct this. I've already tried replacing the driver
with a "fresh" one in case it was corrupted, but did not
help.
