Driver install: The parameter is incorrect

Borderline Psycho

Well, after about a week of struggling with Catalyst 6.2 and MMC 9.13,
I finally toasted my setup. It now refuses to install any of the
drivers properly. Right now I'm running on the default windows VGA
drivers which are painfully slow. Every time I reboot, the New
Hardware Wizard fires up and attempts to install the drivers, but
always ends on the same window

CANNOT INSTALL THIS HARDWARE
There was a problem installing this hardware
ALL-IN-WONDER X600 Series
An error occured during the installation of this device.
The parameter is incorrect.
Click finish to close this wizard.

I've used the CAT-UNINSTALLER several times with no joy. In fact
that's what lead to my current situation. I've even tried the OMEGA
drivers with the same result. If anybody has any suggestions, I'm
willing to try just about anything.

Answering my own post. This page here:

https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge

explains what to change in the registry in order to get things working
again. Interesting enough, this page wouldn't show up using the ATI
website search, until I did a Google search and looked at the page in
the Google cache. Here's a link to the Google cache in case anybody
else has the same problem.
