driver for lucent win modem?

hey, i am trying to connect to a dial up service but my
computer doesn't recognize my modem. I have windows xp and
have at one time had a LAN. I was told by someone to
download a driver update for my Lucent Win Modem, and I've
been all over Microsoft's site as well as Lucent
Technologies and I can find one. Does any one have any
suggestions?
