Drive won't open

When I look in Windows Explorer I see all the drives (We have a DVD drive and
a DVD writer). When I click on the last drive E an erro occurs ;Function
Error. When I put in a USB stick (letter F) I can see the stick, the DVD
writer now opens normaly but then the USB stick gives the same error.
Somehow the compuer cannot open more then 2or 3 drives. We have a Dell 4500
system, XP home SP2.

Error: "Drive <x:> is not accessible. Incorrect function" when accessing
a CD or removable drive after installing Norton AntiVirus
