Drive Letter Consistency

I have several hard drives, USB flash cards, a PDA/phone, a music device and
a camera that I connect to my notebook through a multi-port USB. I want to
force my machine to recognise each one consistenty as a specific "drive"
letter regardless of which USB port they are plugged into or how many are
plugged in at once.

I have not figured out how to do this. Any help please.

Thanks.

If you right click on My Computer and choosing Manage, then choose Disk
Management. In there you will be able to see all the harddisks, portable
disks, CD drives etc.

Now you can choose for example a removable device, right click on it and
select "Change drive letter and Paths..." In the next popup window you can
change the drive letter that will get assigned it when ever you plug it in,
so now if you plug that device into any usb port it should get that Letter
you have chosen.

Hope this helps.
