Drive Image and Bios boot virus detection

Aparently the manual for DI tells you to turn off Boot virus detection in
the Bios. I've never bothered to do this and it seems to work OK. Are there
any consequences of not turning this off?

There can be in theory if DI needs to fiddle with
the boot sector when changing the partitions etc.

There are various levels of protection against boot viruses,
some protection is intelligent enough to be able to distinguish
between safe changes to the partition table entrys and others
just prevent any attempt to write to that sector at all.
