I've been using this version of Drive Image with WinXP Pro for over a year
now without problems. I normally create an image of my drives monthly. I
have now found that my machine "hangs" at a blank screen, when trying to
create an image, during the shut down process prior to rebooting to Caldera
Dos . I have done all the obvious like uninstalling and reloading Drive
Image (checking to ensure all DI entries in the Registry are removed),
trying the program in Safe Mode and as Administrator all without success.
Also tried running the program with my AVP shut down and with all programs
shut down (using EnditAll).

I can make an image using the floppy discs, what I can't do is to run the
program as installed on my HDD. Any suggestions what the problem maybe and
how to correct it?

I know I can likely correct the problem by restoring an image made a month
ago but I would like to know why I am having this problem.

Any help will be appreciated.

Using Drive Image 2002 from within Windows to create an image is
problematical, at best. That is one of the short comings that Drive Image
7.01 takes care of. I also used 2002 for about 1 1/2 years, but I always
used the boot floppies! I now use a combination of the two.

My very 1st image, when building a system, is done with 2002 because the
Windows XP install is "virgin" and nothing has been added or changed. After
installing SP1 and all updates, I install Drive Image 7.01 and then continue
to use that version.
