Drive Consistency check at startup

Windows XP started checking the drive consistency at
startup of one of my drive. Does anyone know why this
started up autonmaticlly?

Maybe your drive is going. Hard drive manufacturers usually have free
drive diagnostic utilities available on their websites for download. It
would be a good idea for you to get one for your drive and run the
tests.
