Drag function won't release

J

Jason Grady

Hello,

When I open Excel and click on a cell it won't release the
cell. Wherever I move the cursor it goes creating a field
of highlighted cells. It won't let me enetr anything in
the cell. It won't let me do any alt or crtl functions. To
get out I have to go to another program and close excel
from the tab bar at the bottom.

How do I fix this, and how do I stop it from doing it at
startup?

Thanks,
Jason

I've heard of this problem, but never seen it myself. IIRC, getting
the latest mouse drivers from Microsoft helps.

Do you have a mouse with a wheel? If so, click the wheel

Jason,
Did you ever resolve this problem? I'm experiencing exactly the same problem
using Excel 2002.
