drag+fill, but window doesnt scroll!!

howdy people.

i am on w2k with office 2k.

on any excel file (even a new one) if i try and drag/fill a series
(horizontally), it works up until the edge of the visible window, THEN
IT STOPS.

this is driving me crazy. i have 2 other computers in the house, and
drag/fill works fine (ie. the window starts to scroll across the screen
all the way to the "end" of the excel sheet.)

i re-installed excel, but that didn't help.

am i lame? has anyone seen this problem before? i've run spybot to
see if there is some weird problem there. i've used tweakui to reset
everything to factory defaults... i'm running out of ideas..

please help!!

hm. thanks for the suggestion, but i dont think its a mouse drive
problem...

okay - i tried updating the mouse driver.

it did jack crap.

any other ideas? this seems super broken. like registry problem typ
broken or something.

I don't have a guess, but does it happen with all your workbooks--even brand,
spanking new workbooks?

If it works ok on anyone, maybe you've got something weird on the one where it
doesn't work.

Windows|Freeze panes, windows|split, maybe a scrollarea set.

(I've never seen it and couldn't break xl2002 to do what your does.)

Actually, if I did windows|Freeze panes, then adjusted the column widths so that
the freeze column is off screen to the right, xl2002 wouldn't scroll.

(any chance???)
