downloads go to media player

when i downlown items , they go to media player. it responds it can't open.

How do I prevent downloads going to media player?
 
Change the path: To change the default Internet Explorer Download
Directory, go to
Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer

Change the path you want to assign as IE's Default Download directory here:
Download Directory.


Setup/Download Path: Go to Start/Run: regedit and navigate to...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion and look for
the key called SourcePath. Change this key's value to your hard disk path.
