Downloading work email to my home pc but need to keep copy on serv

Hi,

Outlook is not my strong point so forgive me for stating the obvious in the
following issue:

I run several mailboxes through my outlook at work (outlook 2003).

My IT Department installed a VPN for my on my laptop so that i can access
the server etc from my laptop which is working fine.

I guess I have two options to connect to my work machine. I can either
remote desktop as i connect to the VPN anyway (this is reaaaaaaaaaal slow) OR
i could set up the Micorsoft Exchange Server on my laptop to run through my
VPN.

I chose the latter as remote desktop takes ages plus i only need my mail.

My mailbox at work is set up as follows:

- Mailbox - My Name
(This includes all my folders and is linked to the server. New messages
gets downloaded here)

- Personal Folders
(Thsi includes alll my folders and is saved on the local machine at work)

My problem is:

When i connect to my mail on my laptop through my outlook (2003) it
downloads my mail but then removes it from the server back at work (Mailbox -
My Name)(so it basically saves it on my local machine/laptop.)

I need for it to keep a copy on the server/Mailbox - My Name for filing
puposes.

Again, sorry for stating the obvious - Incredibly urgent so didnt want any
confusion.

'Tools|Accounts|View or change existing email accounts', set the "Deliver
new email to the following location" box to read "Mailbox - (your name)".
This way, email stays on the Exchange Server. Truly, it would be better if
you did this at work, too; .PST files can corrupt fairly easily plus I
assume your Exchange Server admin is good about making backups.
