If you are trying to download and install via the Update
website...then try this.

URL: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?
FamilyID=1001aaf1-749f-49f4-8010-
297bd6ca33a0&DisplayLang=en

Or

www.microsoft.com
Select "All Products" Upper Right hand corner
Select "Downloads"
You are now at the Download Center
In the Keyword field type: Windows 2000 SP4
Select: Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 Network Install for IT
Professionals (this should be first on the list)
Now on the right hand side...select Download. This will
provide you with file name: W2KSP4_EN.EXE

Make sure to CLOSE all applications before running the
SP. That also includes Anti-Virus Software.

Hope this helps...

The best method I found to resolve ALL Service Pack
failures is to first clean out Internet Temporary Files.
Launch Internet Explorer and go to Tools, select Options,
click delete Internet Files, a window pops up asking to
delete all offline files, click the box and then click
OK. If the hourglass stays for more than 6 seconds you
had too much junk in your virtual memory. Once the temp
files are gone the Service packs will run better...teh
whole system will run better. Do it weekly. While you
are there delete cookies too.
