I have reinstalled windows XP over 30 times now. The
first week I got this p4 1.7ghz with XP home, it
compleatly crashed in 5 days, and would not even start up
or reinstall. I had to do a debug disk wipe to fix the
problem. The second week I had it, when I installed my
IBM scanner, it compleatly dissabled my scanner, and it
will no longer even work on an older system. I like the
features of XP but it has been nothing but trouble for me
since day 1. As far as I am conserned Microsoft owes me a
new scanner.

I am tired of using the automatic update, as it will not
alow me to save updates to disk. That means I have to
download almost 200 MB of updates alnost every month.
This would be imposable to do with a modem. As far as I
am conserned, Microsoft owes us all a new operating
system for free. They have made enough money from us to
do that, and owe us at least this much.

On the MS update page
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp?
corporate=true

There are 6 different updates fo XP. I have XP home, but
no where I can find where it says what exactly addition I
have. Can some please stear me to the right update to
use, so I no longer have to do this every month to get my
computer to operate properly.

If I have to reinstall XP every month, it would be nice
to be able to just update from a burned CD with all the
updates right there.

Thanks,
Thomas

Obviously your computer is a piece of junk. Try installing Lindows or Linare
operating systems.

If this is a new pc contact yr supplier, as it would appear to be a
fundimental problem, unless of course yr playing with the settings
I dont know what yr getting on Win Update page. If I wish to do a manual
update I just click 'scan for updates' The updates shown are the ones
applicable to yr Win version. If neccessary use 'read more' to discover if
they are neccessary for yr specific setup.
