Downloading SP2

Alan

I am currently downloading SP2 manualy with a 56k modem.
So far I have about 15MB downloaded. If I were to stop the
download would I be able to come back at a later time and
pick up where I left off. Or would I have to start the
whole download over again. Thanks Alan

When my ISP dropped the connection about half way and I went back to get it
again, it resumed.

If you're using the new Windows Update version 5 and BITS you should
be able to continue the download later.

First if your computer was upto date SP1 , ect its about 109MB SP2
Second, If it shows in an "icon", updates are ready to be downloaded ect
it will hold the update completed
Third, GO TO "Staples" , they have the WINXP SP2 CD there for free, got mine
last sunday

Alan -
If you use a 'download manager' you can start and stop,
otherwise no. With a 56k modem you'll be working for
a long time on that 272mb download. SP2 really isn't
going to change your computing life that much (I have it
installed and my reaction is ho-hum!) so why not wait for
the CD?
