When I send or receive pictures, it takes forever for them to download to
Windows Mail. Last night my brother sent me 6 pictures in two different
emails and it took over an hour for my mail to download. I bought a new pc
preinstalled with Vista Home Basic and I'm on dial-up. Can someone tell me
why this takes so long? Does anyone else have this problem?

A dial-up connection will be slow to
download large files. Do you know
the memory size of the pictures?

have him compress the pictures before sending. usually if you right click on picture and send to email recipient it will ask about compressing to send.

I bought a new laptop with Vista installed in Sept. Since switching over from
my desktop with XP, my email has gotten terribly slow! So frustrating. With
my desktop, I could begin the download of little videos and pictures, walk
away, and a half an hour or so, I would come back and they would be done. And
if I don't sit right there and babysit it, within 15 min. my dial up will
come up with a message saying there has been no activity and will close in 45
seconds! I have contacted Netzero, and they assured me it was Vista. I did go
in and set the time to turn off the internet after lack of activity to 4
hours, and it's like it ignores it. Argh! I want XP back.
