Dr. Hackenbush,

First, the reply was not directed to you. Because I mentioned the download links in my previous post, I knew it was prudent to mention the caveats involved in installing Beta software. I'd like to ask you if you're ready take responsibility for other's PC if something goes wrong after installing Vista RC1?

I don't want to debate on Vista RTM performance vs RC1...etc.

I dont care who the reply was too, i simply cant stop laughing at the advice
to not install a beta product, when Vista itself can still reasonably be
classed as beta, as it has since its launch or should i say escape.

Please explain why Vista SP1 beta will be any worse than installing Vista in
its current condition.

Is Bill Gates taking resposibility for releasing Vista in the state it is
and all the problems its causing for an awful lot of people ?!

Vista as it stands is a heap of crap, but you people just dont have the
balls to stand up and admit it, hence your insistence on defending the
indefensible

May be, or may be not. But what if RC1 is even worse than Vista RTM? A note of caution usually helps, atleast for defence. That's what I'm saying. I'm not a Vista fan either, with its current performance.

Please explain why Vista SP1 beta will be any worse than installing Vista
in its current condition.

The SP1 RC is timebombed to quit working in June 2008. This means it will
have to be uninstalled before the RTM SP1 which is not timebombed can be
installed.

"so whats the difference between this and the release of Vista"
The time bomb is a big difference for one, there are others.
Read the available information and then make your own informed
decision.
Anyone not familiar with Beta and the limitations of Beta should not
use a Beta.

If your questions are serious, you probably should not touch Beta
since you lack the basic information needed by someone using Beta
software.

The fact is whether you recognize it or not, risks of using a Beta are
higher and thus user should install accordingly.

Are you prepared for total data loss?
Are you prepared to perform a Clean Installation to resolve any and
all issues caused directly or indirectly by a Beta?
If you can not answer Yes to both of the above, you are not prepared
to install Beta.
While those possibilities are remote, they are possible and part of
the nature of Beta.
This applies to any Beta from any source, not just Microsoft.

"please stop..."
No, if you do not want to read truth, it is up to you to take action
or inaction, no one else.

Vista itself can still reasonably be
classed as beta

So you say. Nobody else thinks so, so give it a rest.

Yes, like any brand new OS, Vista does have issues. Nothing serious
IMO.
