Download Problems

I still have not received any help to the problem
described below. Right clicking the link and "save target
as" is not an option.

I cannot download .exe files. I get the following
message,"Internet Explorer was not able to open this
Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable
or cannot be found. Please try again later". My OS is XP
and I use IE 6.0, all updates are current. I've had this
problem since I purchase this PC and also know others
that are experiencing the same problem. I have tried
many "fixes" by searching the web and still no luck. Any
help will be appreciated.

there is nothing wrong with your comp. it is the
internet site problem.

When downloading off web sites, do a normal click on the link or the
'download here' button, and you will get a window that gives you the option
of opening or saving.. always 'save' so that you can virus check before
running.. the 'save target as' only comes up if you right click on a link,
which is not how you download an .exe file to a computer..
