How do I download from my old lp's to a file (my music)
to burn to cd.

Buy a stereo lead to go from your hifi to your soundcard. Plug in both ends.

Get some software such as Goldwave (search Google) the record your track(s)
as wav file(s). Use Goldwave to "de-click" the tracks, take out the
turntable rumble and to normalise the sound.

Invest in decent burning software, like Nero. Burn to CD.

If you want to store files on your HD but you're stuck for space, Goldwave
will convert them into mp3 format. FYI, you can burn 700Mb of mp3's onto a
CD-R with Nero by burning the CD as data and not music, but then not every
hifi or CD player will recognise mp3 formats.
