Hi,

I am using Windows XP at my office and at home, too. My
home connection is slow, but I would like to install all
the updates (39 of them) I have at my office PC. Is it
possible to download all these packages in a simple way
(maybe from and ftp directory, with wget), or do I need
to go through the whole search-download process 39 times?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

A better alternative would be to download at the office the network install
version of SP2 and use that as you will not require any major updates just
yet.

The best solution is to download Service Pack 2 for
Windows XP. It includes all the previous updates.

Windows XP Service Pack 2 Installation Package (Direct Download):

SP2 is a solid, secure release. You may wish to view the following:

I would suggest performing the following maintenance prior to
installing SP2:

Download Ad-Aware 6.0 and scan your PC for the presence of spyware:

Note: Be sure to click on the "Check for updates now" link before scanning.

Using Windows update (version 4) on the Office machine, take Update
Catalog in the left panel (you may need first to check it off in
'Customise'). In that select Updates for Operating systems, then
Windows XP Pro (or Windows XP Pro SP1 if that is already on your home
machine - take ones for Pro as more comprehensive even if you have Home)
and carry on to a page of available Critical updates. There you can
check things to be added to a download basket and in due course download
it to a folder from which you can burn a CD
