Down arrow display bug: what update has the fix?

G

Glenn Holliday

In at least one version of IE 6 under XP SP 2 (6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)
has a bug that causes the down arrow character entity
to render to the left of the current position. This was
incorrectly rendered both for the symbolic value ↓
and for the numeric value ↓

This bug was fixed in version 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158CO.
What update contained that revision of IE? What should I
tell people who suffer the bug to look for in order to
fix it?

Thanks!

My guess would be the version of mshtml.dll is a significant factor.
Knowing it would at least show someone your maintenance level.
Also notice that recent cumulative updates no longer provide integrated
hotfixes by default unless the machine being updated already has
a hotfixed version of a module. Nevertheless you could extract the
hotfixed version of the module from the downloaded package and
"install" it manually; then try recreating your problem symptom
while using it.
