Doubts about WinCE versions

Hi. I bought an iPaq 36xx series, with Windows CE 3.0.9348 (build 9616), and
I have some questions about the SO. I searched the web, but the information
about the "WinCE / PocketPC" versions are confuse.

1) Whats the difference between this version Windows CE and PocketPC? Are
they the same thing?

PocketPC (or Windows Mobile as it is called now) is a customized version of
the generic WIndows CE O/S.
Pocket PC 2000 and PocketPC 2002 are based on version 3.0 of Windows CE.

2) If no, can I upgrade my PDA to PocketPC 2000/2002?

You should contact the device manufacturer for an upgrade. Some vendors
offer an upgrade.

3) Can I run .net applications (compact framework) in this SO (WinCE 3)? The
MS docs tells that the compact framework runs over Pocket PC 2000, 2002 and
Windows CE.NET, but don't refer to Windows CE 3.0.

The .NET Compact Framework is supported on Pocket PC 2000 and Pocket PC
2002. Your device runs a compatible O/S.
Your device is NOT a generic Windows CE 3.0 device, it is a Pocket PC.
