Double Line Space in outgoing messages

Since updating my old version to Outlook 2003, I find my default messages are
using a double line space and I can't seem to get it to a single line space.
(Even my signature data is double spaced)
I have Word 2003 as my default editor.
Any suggestions?

Are you using one of the in-built templates, by any chance? A lot of these
are double-line spacing.
