what is double layer DVD burner and how is it different from single layer
DVD burner

Double-Layer means it has two (2) layers which can be written to, which
means you can store 8.5Gb on one DVD. Single-layer is one layer and 4.2 Gb.
(Think of a single-layer cake versus a two-layer cake. The laser beam is
moved up and/or down, as required.)
