Good Day,

I have a problem that when double-clicking on any folders through explore or
even on desktop, the search facility is open. I have to physically
right-click and select open each time.

I also noticed that when I right-click, search is the first option
available, and is in bold.

Can someone help me with getting my double-click action to default to open?

Thank You
Felicity

Thanks for your reply, yes, I did look at the mouse settings in control panel - it was the first place I thought of looking as well, but I can find nothing that would help.

Thank You

Try this one, open up the control panel and select tools from the menu at the top, select folder options and see what your click settings are setup as!! let me know if thisd helps.

The setting is selected as "Double-click to Open". I even went and reselected the option and applied the folder option to check if this would help, but did not help.

Thanks

common problem, you added something to the right-clcik menu (like print
dir, or open command here) and the default action ended up becomming
search. Easy fix, paste these 4 lines into a text file, save it as
fix.reg, then right-click that file and choose "merge":

------------------------begin cut------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell]
@="none"
------------------------end cut----------------
