Double clicking mouse to open application

Tania

Whenever I double click my left button on my mouse to
open a folder or application instead it brings up my
search window. When I right click search is in bold
instead of open. So everytime I want to open something I
have to right click, and scroll down to open. Does anyone
know how to make my programs, files and folders open by
just double clicking the left button? Please Help.

Kelly,

Thank You so much it worked like a charm!! Just one more
question I was curious to know if you might know how it
may have gotten that way? And my Fiance wanted to know
how you knew that code to reset it? Thanks a bunch.

Most welcome, Tania. This behavior comes from altering the Folder options
via File Types. As for that pariticular fix, it has been around for awhile.
I also have a script for the issue:

Search or CMD Opens When Double Clicking a Folder or Drive (Line 18)

To use the VBS File: Download .vbs file and save it to your hard drive (you
may want to right click and use Save Target As). Double-click the vbs file.
You will be prompted when the script is done.

More Run Commands, etc. for the Fiance.)

Hi,

This happens if you try to edit the type 'folder' from within Folder Optionsshell32.dll file.
