dotnet 2.0 performance

Since .Net 2.0 has many new controls, I was wondering if it impacts the
webserver in any way. Is the performance of .Net 2.0 affected in any way?

Can you explain this a little bit more, because there are improvements, by
instance in AdoNet and that will surely improve the performance.
