Which is better dotnet 1.1 or 2.0. Can I upgrade from 1.1 to 2.0 by jus
installing 2.0. Do I have to do a complete deletion or wipe.

Don't think it's an upgrade per say, you can remove 1.1 and install 2.0. Or
they work well side by side. For now you may want to have both installed.

As far as I know, you can actually have both versions as some programs
require different versions.

If it is the Newdotnet that I know of, then it is serious spyware shit that
can cripple your machine. Avoid at all costs.

..NET Framework 2.0 is just installed normally and after that, you have
to reboot. .NET Framework 1.1 will be replaced, i think.
All programs made by Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 are compiled with 2.0
instead of 1.1 .
But.. If there are any programs that won't work anymore after the
update, just downgrade There is not really a need for 2.0 yet.
But I think Microsoft Vista will be using 2.0 (I hope so.. wanna get rid
of that stupid 1.1 )

.NET Framework 2.0 is just another New Improved
.NET runtime environment for .NET programs that
were written using .NET Framework 2.0 . Common
MS programming languages that use it are C#.NET,
J#.NET, and VisualBasic.NET. Some .NET Framework
1.0 and 1.1 programs will be able to use a subset of 2.0,
and some 1.0 and 1.1 programs will need to use .NET
Framework 1.0 or 1.1 specically. When you install
.NET Framework 2.0, leave the earlier versions installed
for those programs that need them.

..Net 2.0 is not an upgrade of 1.1. When it's installed 1.1 is left
intact. Which one is better is not the question. Which version do the
programs on your system need, that is the important issue.

No, installing .Net 2.0 does not replace 1.1. It is not an upgrade.
