Dot matrix printing NLQ instead of Draft on Win2k Server

Z

ZFunk

Using an Okidata Microline 395 24-pin wide-carriage dot
matrix printer connected directly to LPT1 of the server.
Have tried printing from different applications, however
all prints come out NLQ, regardless of settings on the
printer itself or in Windows. Have tried numerous
different drivers in an attempt to get it to print draft
mode. Worked just fine on NT Server 4.0 in draft. Any
ideas please?

Are you expecting to print using a printer resident font?
Does the driver support this font?
Does the driver support a different printer resident font?
Is your application selecting the printer resident font?
If the font doesn't appear in your applications font list, then the driver
doesn't support it.You may have to contact the printer manufacturer for an
updated driver.

Additionally, if you are technically savy, print to a file. Then open the
file and look at the control codes at the beginning of the document and see
what the driver is sending to select a font. Your printers
operators/programmers manual (if you have one) should (but not necessarily)
have a list of commands to select the printers fonts.
