dot matrix printer

Jacky

I would like to use a 24 dot matrix printer (citizen swift). The machine
recognizes paper forms : 6", 8", 11", 11.6", 12", 14", 15 inch forms.

But I would like to use A4 forms. Does somebody know, how to put the format
in the machine ?

Thx.

Maybe you need the EPSON ESC/P codes to set the width, formlength and
margins.

Use the 11.6" setting. A-4 paper is 11.69" long - close enough for all
practical purposes.

And if A4 will not fit at 11.6 use 12 and adjust left margin.

I thought we were talking page LENGTH here, not width. A--4 paper is
8.27" wide. If we are trying to insert the paper sideways, then all bets
are off.

Many books list Epson ESC and HP codes for DOS printers,
e.g. the Que Printer's Bible.

That is correct, of course, but A4 fanfold paper as used in dot-matrix
printers is 11.667" long, as it has to conform to the perforations which
are set at 1/3" intervals. But the 11.6" setting is what's required.
