I used to be able to run a DOS program,
hit alt/PrnSc, then open Paint and paste
the image. But today it does not work!

Have I forgotten that it should be ctrl/PrnSc
or something else??? - RM

No, it is Alt-PrnScr. could it be that the DOS program in question is
hooking the PrnScr key (or just Alt-PrnScr) for it's own uses?

That could be: the program does hook the mouse and it fields
keyboard operations such as ctrl/Z. The simulator does not "turn
off advan. text services."

How do I unhook the PrnScr key ? - RM

I don't know, it would be program-specific; does the software (vendor)
have a user forum or NG?

Parish
