DOS printing on a printer with no ASCII interpreter

Hello all,

I just got a Lexmark E210 laser printer. I have an old DOS application
that I need to use, but when I tryed printing with my brand new
printer... nothing.

A quick visit to lexmark.com and I got my answer:

"Since the Lexmark E210 is a host-based printer, it does not support
direct printing from DOS.
The product has no ASCII-based language interpreter on board to
process information received from DOS. This printer relies on the
Windows spooler and the host-based printer driver. Printing from DOS
applications is not supported, as results are not consistent. Even a
DOS application running within Windows is likely to have spooling
issues with the E210."

My question is: how can I "fool" my DOS program to send the data to
Windows Spooler (or something like that) instead of directly to LPT1 ?

I googled around for a bit and found a way to redirect the data from
LPTx to a network share, but I can't make this work for a local
printer...

I'm currently running Windows XP Home Edition and the latest Lexmark
driver.

TIA for any suggestions...

Leo.
