DOS application not using local keyboard.

I would like to run a Dos application (XTGOLD) on Vista. I have created a
shortcut for this on my Start Menu. The application runs but gives me a US
keyboard, as I am in the UK I would prefer my UK keyboard.

The normal DOS command prompt recognizes my UK Keyboard

How do I get my UK Keyboard recognized by DOS applications?

I have tried starting the program at the command prompt but I get::

C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG.NT.Error Code 0x3 You do not have sufficient
privilege to access this file. See your system administrator

I have XTree Gold. I used it from 1992 up till Win2K on all 16 bit operating
systems. There was a time I would never work on a computer until I had it
installed. Times change.

Believe me, unless they have come out with a 32 bit version you don't want
to use it under any 32 bit environment. I have tried. It just doesn't work
well and causes data corruption if you use it for file manipulation.

Try Total Commander instead. It does all that XTree did, and more.
