Doom Virus detected by microsoft update ?? then update asked to install.

I went to this page and had the newest microsoft update software
installed--->
http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer/default.aspx?ln=en
After that I was using my computer for a few hours and a microsoft update
popped up that said I must have a doom virus or other virus on my computer
and needed the update they gave me to get rid of the virus,downloaded and
installed update and nothing to use to detect this type of virus was seen.I
used my McAfee antivirus program and checked all of my harddrive for viruses
and nothing was found.
Who knows where this update came from,I manually looked for updates and
there were none before this popped up.

Sounds like windows update thinks you had the mydoom worm.

It may have offered you the removal tool. This does not
mean you are infected. If you have updated virus
deffinitions then I would not worry about it.
