I have a copy of 3.11, just 1 copy. I know microsoft considers 3.11 an
inferrior product, out of date, and that they no longer offer support for it.
If this is true, could I possilbe make a few copys of it and give it to
friends so we can go back to the old days of windows now and then and every
one has their own copy? I just want to know so i dont get in any trouble.

Just because we no longer sell or support Windows 3.11, you may not make
copies of it or distribute it to your friends. That would still be
copyright infringement and software piracy.

Mike,
Where exactly can this group of Microsoft enthusiasts purchase valid copies
of Windows 3.11 that would not infringe on the copyright?
I don't know of any way to currently pay MS for the license to use Windows
3.11.
If they can't pay, how can they play? <VBG>
Don't you think this was a don't ask, don't tell situation? They shouldn't
have asked and you should have replied with a <wink> at the end of your
correct reply. That is unless you have a solution to their dilemma.

Windows 3.x is still Microsoft intellectual property and as such has an
associated value.
We still make it available on MSDN which is a "paid for" resource.
So unfortunately for these Windows Enthusiasts there only resource is to
source a legitimate original copy from sources such as eBay, computer fairs
or garage sales etc.
