Domino Connector and XP Pro SP2

I have been running Outlook 2003 SP2 with the Domino Connector for some time
now. A few days ago I "upgraded" from XP Pro SP1 to SP2, and since then I
have been unable to get the system to work at all. It keeps giving me a
message saying:

"Outlook Connectorfor Domino can't be started. Verify that Lotus Notes
client is properly installed and configured...."

and

"The profile is not complete because your Note.ini file hasn't been
personalized for your e-mail account..."

The profile is correct, and is working fine with Lotus Notes.

Is there any way that we can get the connector to work with XPP SP2?

Have you checked with the vendor to see if anything is a known issue or if
they have a hotfix or other solution? It will not come from Microsoft.

Milly:

The "vendor" is Microsoft... I am referring to the Domino Connector for
Outlook 2003 which can be downloaded from the MS website. Therefore, I have
actually exhausted all other means I know of to solve this problem, except
for turning to the forums like this. I suspect, however, that this is where
I will find the information I am looking for!!

Thanks,

Jason

Hi Jason ;

We are on the same boat. When i tried to install the outlook connector for
domino onto my client PC, i encountered exactly the same problem and same
error message. Howerver, the same installation went without any problem on my
colleague PC.

I have listed the difference in the two PC configuration as follow :

(1) My PC - Window XP SP2, Outlook 2003 Professional edition SP2
(2) My colleague - Window XP SP2, Outlook 2003 standard edition.

It would appear to me that this is a incompatibilty issue betwen the Outlook
connector for Domino with Outlook 2003 Professional edition SP2.

can somebody help ?

Tim:

I got around the problem by switching from the Microsoft version of the
Domino Connector to the IBM version that does essentially the same thing. It
is even more comprehensive than the MS version, and a lot more stable. I was
able to download a trial version from IBM. They have yet to ask me to
purchase it, so I don't have any idea how much it costs, but for now its
working great. Here's the link:

Good luck!
