HELP. I am running a new laptop running xp pro which I am using at work (and
connecting to a network that uses a domain). I would like to ALSO be able to
see the resources on the home network (which is peer to peer using workgroups
and shared resources). It seems that I cannot have both! The domain/work
setup works fine, but I can no longer see the home computers (I get to the
home network through a wireless connection, and the work network via
ehternet. My guess is that this is a simple question and I am just too
novice to figure it out. Does anyone have a suggestion for how I can work
through this?

Yes, you can do both. It is a good thing you posted because one of the
most common errors people make is to remove the computer from the work
domain. Doing this means they have to grovel before their IT people the
next day. ;-)

Here is how you can use your home network resources on your
domain-enabled laptop (thanks to MVP Lanwench):

Note - you don't need to change to a workgroup just to access resources
on it. You shouldn't play with your laptop's network settings at all.
Once you've logged in using your domain account (using cached
credentials), and have an IP address on the home network, you can map
drives, use printers, whatnot, very easily - one way, in a command
line:

net use x: \\computername\sharename /user:computername\username <enter>
