I reformatted a computer, and installed XP again. WHen I went to connect to
the domain, I went to Control Panel, System, and the button to connect to
domain was not there. How do I connect to the domain?

If this is Windows XP Home Edition, you do not; it cannot join a domain.

It IS XP Pro

Did you change the DNS settings so that the "new" computer is looking only
at the AD DNS server for name resolution? Are you logged in with an account
with full Administrator rights on the "new" computer?
