Domain Trust

Here is my issue I have two windows 2000 domains in two
diffrent office locations connected with a T1 Point to
Point. I went in to domain A trust and tried to add
domain b i got a error messege that the domain can not be
contacted and will not be trusted until it is.

I can ping servers back and forth from both locations, I
can map drives from both locations, I can browse
computers in both locations. but I cant trust the two
domains. Please let me know what would be the easiest way
to accomplish this.
